KEIZER
BARBAROSSA
For when you are in the heart of the bustling city of Groningen and need a place for rest, privacy and relaxation.
Groningen
is a Hanseatic city with about 190,000 inhabitants. It's one of the
oldest cities in the Netherlands, a university city with the largest
number of students in the country. Groningen is very attractive, safe
and lively, with well-developed sporting facilities. The Keizer
Barbarossa B & B is only a few minutes' walk from the centre, with
its many pleasant shopping streets and markets, parks, museums,
bars, restaurants, buses, trains, parking places. The entertainment and
nightlife
are extensive, with many interesting and romantic possibilities.
Our B & B is situated in a former brewery, one of the
canal houses which are part of the old city of Groningen. It is situated in the harbour on the river Aa, with its fishing banks.
On the opposite side of Der Aa, Bij de Soutketel, can be found some authentic captain's houses.
The
Keizer Barbarossa is beside the old Pieterpad
Route, which runs from Pieterburen (with its seal nursery)
and goes along the Hooge der Aa, Groningen to the St. Pieter Berg in
Maastricht, a total of 305 miles.

Van

Van Drenthe tot
aan't Wad
Doar gruit doar
bluit ain wonderland
Rondom ain wondre

Ain Pronkjewail
in golden raand
Is Grunnen Stad
en Ommelaand;
Ain Pronkjewail
in golden raand
Is Stad en
Ommelaand!
Daor broest de
zee, daar hoelt de wind,
Daar soest 't aan
diek en wad,
Moar rustig
waarkt en wuilt het volk,
Het volk van Loug
en Stad.
Ain Pronkjewail
in golden raand
Is Grunnen Stad
en Ommelaand;
Ain Pronkjewail
in golden raand
Is Stad en
Ommelaand!
Daor woont de dege-
degelkhaaid
De wille, vast as stoal
Doar vuilt het haart, wat
tonge sprekt,
In richt- en slichte toal
Ain Pronkjewail in golden
raand
Is Grunnen Stad en
Ommelaand;
Ain Pronkjewail in golden
raand
Is Stad en Ommelaand!
